How to Accept Account Invitations

Learn how to view and accept pending account invitations directly from the Select Account screen.

Are you a staff member who's been invited to join one or more accounts on AfterSchool HQ? You can now accept those invitations right from the Select Account screen — no extra steps or back-and-forth required.

1. Log In to AfterSchool HQ

Sign in with your existing credentials. If you have pending invitations, you will be automatically directed to the Select Account screen.

2. Look for the Notification Bell

Once on the Select Account screen, look for a bell icon in the top-right corner. If you have pending invitations, the bell will have a blinking red dot and the alerts panel will automatically open.

💡Tip: Don’t see the invitation? Sometimes the Select Account screen won’t refresh right away.

Logging out and back in can trigger the invitation to appear.

3. Review Your Pending Invitations

The alerts panel will display a list of all accounts you've been invited to join, along with the account name and relevant details.

4. Accept Invitations

You have two options: click "Accept All" to join every account at once, or click the accept button next to a specific account to join individually. Any invitations you don't accept will remain in the alerts panel for later.

💡Tip: Use “Accept All” if you have multiple invites. This saves time if you’ve been added to several accounts at once, no need to accept them one by one.

5. Access Your New Account(s)

After accepting, the Select Account page will automatically refresh and your newly joined account(s) will appear in your account list. Simply click on any account to switch to it.

💡Tip: Try desktop if mobile isn’t showing everything.

Some users find the Select Account screen easier to navigate on desktop if the notification bell or panel isn’t clear on mobile.


Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What If I'm Already an Active Staff Member?

If you are already active on at least one AfterSchool HQ account and an administrator adds you to a new one, you will be granted access automatically — no invitation acceptance required. You'll receive an email notification letting you know you've been added, with a direct link to view the new account.

Q: What does the blinking red dot on the bell icon mean?

It means you have one or more pending account invitations. The alerts panel will open automatically so you can review them right away.

Q: What happens if I don't accept an invitation right away?

No worries — any unaccepted invitations will remain in the alerts panel the next time you log in or switch accounts. They won't disappear until you accept them.

Q: Can I decline an invitation?

At this time, there is no option to decline an invitation. You can simply leave it in the alerts panel if you don't wish to accept it right now.

Q: I accepted an invitation but the account isn't showing up — what should I do?

Try refreshing the Select Account page. If the account still doesn't appear, please reach out to our support team for help.

Q: Will I receive an email when I'm added to a new account?

Yes! Whether you need to accept an invitation or are added automatically as an already-active user, you'll receive an email notification confirming your access and providing a direct link to the account.
