How to Enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) for Your Organization

Learn how to enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) to add an additional layer of security when staff members access your AfterSchool HQ account.

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) helps protect your organization’s AfterSchool HQ account by adding an additional verification step during login.

Once enabled, staff members will continue signing in with their usual email address and password. They will then receive a verification code by email that must be entered before they can access the account.

1. Access Account Settings

From your AfterSchool HQ provider account, open Account Settings”.

This is where you can access and manage settings associated with your organization.

2. Open the Settings Menu

Within Account Settings, locate the “Settings” available for your organization.

3. Access Detailed Settings

Click Settings” once more to view and manage your organization’s account options.

4. Locate Two-Factor Authentication

Find the Two-Factor Authentication setting. 

When enabled, this feature adds an additional verification step when staff members sign in to AfterSchool HQ. Staff will enter their usual email address and password first and then verify their login using a code sent to their email.

💡 Tip: Two-Factor Authentication adds to the existing login process. Staff members will continue using their current AfterSchool HQ email address and password.

5. Enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

Turn on the Security option to enable Two-Factor Authentication for your organization.

Once enabled, staff members will be prompted to complete the additional verification step when signing in.

💡 Tip: Before enabling this setting, make sure each staff member can access the email address associated with their AfterSchool HQ account.

6. Sign In

Enter your AfterSchool HQ email address and password as usual to begin the login process. After your login information is entered, AfterSchool HQ will prompt you to verify your login.

💡 Tip: You do not need to create a new password after 2FA is enabled. Continue using your existing AfterSchool HQ login credentials.

7. Check Your Email

Check the email address associated with your AfterSchool HQ account for the verification code.

💡 Tip: If you don't see the verification email in your inbox, check your Spam, Junk, or Promotions folders.

8. Find the Verification Code

Open the email from AfterSchool HQ and locate the verification code.

You’ll use this code to complete the login process.

💡 Tip: Keep your AfterSchool HQ login page open while checking your email so you can easily return and enter the code.

9. Enter the Verification Code

Return to AfterSchool HQ and enter the verification code in the field provided.

Make sure the code is entered exactly as it appears in the email.

💡 Tip: Verification codes should not be shared with other users. Each staff member should use the code provided for their own login.

10. Complete Your Login

Submit the verification code to complete the login process.

Once your code has been successfully verified, you’ll be able to access your AfterSchool HQ account.

💡 Tip: If you're unable to complete verification because you no longer have access to the email associated with your account, contact your organization administrator or AfterSchool HQ Support for assistance.
